Hi again everyone. The stomach flu has finally and mercifully passed. I wanted to share with you a few revelations I've had this week.
1* Amazon is amazing. Ha. Of, course I've known for forever that Amazon is super-great, but that was a truth that I relearned today when I bought my Canon PowerShot ELPH 100 HS camera (plus a drab, ugly, black case, 4 GB memory card, and extra battery that I did not want) at Best Buy for $233, only to realize once I got home that to buy the camera + an 8 GB memory card + a much cuter camera case was only $196.30 on Amazon. So yes, I re-bought the same camera + cooler accessories on Amazon. I am now the proud owner of two identical cameras--one of which I will promptly return in the morning.
2* Second revelation. Nordstrom Rack is pretty cool. On principle I've always stayed away from stores with the words "Rack" or "Basement" contained in the name--possibly because it reminds me somehow of a medieval torture device or a serial killer's trophy room. It bothers me subconsciously. Anyhow, we went there today and were blown away by the impeccable fashion and the very reasonable prices. I was entranced by the Asian-style clothing they had while my sister was sucked into the labyrinth of the shoe aisles. And that was an hour of our lives. Of course we bought nothing. (My sister pictured below).
3* I have been babysitting all week. To keep the kids occupied in the morning I take them out on a walk through the neighborhood. Really guys, not only is taking a walk great for your health but it really can allow you to marvel at the beauty of nature. Take a break. Get off your computer, your phone, whatever-- RIGHT NOW! I see you. GO. Go enjoy God's creation and you'll feel feel so happy and peaceful (though possibly a bit hot) afterwards. Below are some shots of my walks this week--the last shot was taken after I went to pick up my sister yesterday and was forced to wait in the hot car for 50 minutes. I nearly died of heatstroke. You are lucky to be reading these words today. The clouds were pretty though. Edible almost.
