Since I was in elementary school, it seems like the only thing that could ever prompt me to write was some tale of woe, like my broken arm, or the time I had to get stitches, or the time my best friend in 2nd grade blackmailed me into paying her $10 to remain her best friend (no hard feelings by the way). So it is only fitting that my first post relate to something tragic--the stomach flu. Let's just say the week hasn't started out too great for me. It's strange because I literally can't remember having the stomach flu since I was like 8 years old.
If you take a look in my personal diary, you will find that nearly every entry contains a piece of tragic information. In fact, I just flipped open a journal entry from when I was 16--I actually chronicled in detail every single day of a week that I was ill. OCD or hypochondria? Diagnose me.
Here's a snippet:
"April 15, 2005...Friday-Still very sick. Sore throat, coughing, temperature 103 degrees F. Had an awful dream that [my sister] was 4 legged and had to have two of them amputated because she supposedly got gangrene, but really she just cut her circulation off..."
Wow. Yes, seriously, fever-dreams can be pretty wild, and I've been having them for the past few days. Can anyone else remember a weird fever dream?
