Hi everyone,
Sorry--I know it's been a week since I last posted. To be honest, I had writer's block. For some reason, I felt totally uninspired this week. Anyways, yesterday my sister and I made a trip downtown (to D.C.) to hang out with a relative for the weekend. It had been a while since we had visited--and to add to that basically half of D.C.'s metro stops are named either "Federal" or "Capitol" something. So, of course, we got slightly lost. And ended up having to walk halfway across the city. However, it was fun and we were able to enjoy an unintended tour of our birthplace, our beautiful nation's capitol: Washington, D.C.
The Metro: Where all the trouble began...
Where we ended up on our long wandering journey...
The F.B.I Headquarters (a.k.a. the "J. Edgar Hoover Building")
Classic D.C. vehicles...
The National Archives--seriously one of the coolest places in America. Gaze upon your history. Go see the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, the Magna Carta...Guys I actually chose to celebrate my 16th Birthday by visiting there....Yes, I know, nerd...
The National Gallery's Sculpture Garden....What can you interpret out of this?
(An Entrance to the Paris Métropolitain, circa 1902/1913)
(Awesome metal tree!!!!)
And now for some classic D.C.--The Smithsonian "Castle", The Washington Monument, and the Capitol Building.
That was some powerful sun...
Now to the 3 Most Vital things in the Nation's Capitol:
1* The Merry-Go-Round across from the Smithsonian: How do you think the Senators handle all the stress? Here's your answer....
2* Being a complete nerd...
3* Traffic Lights: D.C.'s streets are a tangled mass of one-way streets and hypnotic circles. No one really knows how to drive through it. You're so confused that all you can really focus on are the primal traffic commands: Stop and Go.
*Miscellaneous*: We ate European chocolate and played with Russian dolls all night. Try it sometime.
