Raise the silk banner,
Translucent, gleaming,
The fragile rose petal
Torn from its flower
Yellow fragments
Floating broken in the sky
Still fighting towards the dawn
Hear the lone horse canter
The wailing, tears streaming,
The clink of old metal,
The end of the hour,
The last defense,
Frozen waiting there to die,
Let me rest with the fallen.
Does honor matter?
There will be no fleeing,
I’ll die with no fetter,
I’ll fall and he’ll tower
Without remembrance,
Disappearing with a sigh,
Like grass or a whispered song.
Blinding light, blood splatter,
I watch the sword passing,
And in the earth settle,
My heart struck by his power,
Mercy my sentence
He kneels his hand grasping mine,
We stand, the last of the strong.
Flowers scattered
Grief beyond seeing
No warriors better,
They sleep in heaven’s shower,
The world empty, we kiss
Making vows as we cry
Stay together, die alone.
